UMBR was founded by two best friends — Adil and Shaheer — who’ve known each other for as long as they can remember.

“Our story goes back decades, before we were even born. Our parents were close friends, having gone to college together, and that bond carried into our friendship. Growing up side by side, we shared not just a childhood, but a deep admiration for art, design, and storytelling.

From the very beginning, our goal was never just to build a clothing brand. We always dreamed of creating something meaningful — something rooted in purpose. That dream became UMBR.

We’ve always felt a deep love for our culture — the richness of Pakistani history, the intricacies of its art, the strength of its poetry, and the vibrance of its people. But truthfully, we’re still learning. We’re not scholars or historians — just two guys from Karachi trying to reconnect with where we come from and share what we find along the way. Every collection, every piece, every design is a reflection of that journey.

UMBR is personal to us in every way. It’s even named after Shaheer’s mom, who has always been a source of strength and inspiration. This brand is a love letter to where we come from — not just the place, but the people, the memories, and the stories that shaped us.

At its heart, UMBR is a community. A space for anyone who’s ever felt disconnected from their roots. A space to rediscover, relearn, and celebrate. A space to feel proud of who you are and where you come from.
